One of the most challenging aspects of pastoral ministry is dealing with deceptive and manipulative people who make their way into the church. To be honest, I was a little shocked in my earliest years of pastoral ministry to witness the lengths that professing Christians will go to to hide their sin and to maintain a facade of self-righteousness. When I listened to this episode from the Glory Cloud Podcast entitled, Meredith Kline Applied – Counseling Cont’d – Narcissists & Manipulators (episode 157), it resonated with my experiences. I think there is a lot of wisdom here. In fact, there is a lot of wisdom in all of the episodes on the topic of counseling (episodes 154-159). I can’t say that I agree with everything that is said, but in general, the teaching is helpful. I would especially recommend that those interested in pastoral ministry have a listen.
